Elizabeth House is a residential transitional program in Oakland for women and children who have experienced violence or homelessness. They provide job training and counseling, as well as assistance to successfully transition to safe permanent housing.
Fred Finch Youth Center provides services to support children and families in the foster care system.
Futures4Haiti is a school sponsorship program benefitting 20 Haitian children living in the most impoverished areas of Port-au-Prince. There is no public school system, so most children have little chance at an education. My daughter had the opportunity to volunteer for this organization, and it was a life-changing experience for her.
New Day for Children helps girls that have been rescued from sex trafficking. I had the opportunity to meet some of the girls. It was an emotional experience for me that inspired me to donate money to this organization.
